SDHC
We know that SDHC stands for secure digital high capacity. The SDHC is a part of SD standard extension which has enhanced the storing capacity of the card up to 32 GB. It is find out that the SDHC cards have same physical and electrical appearance factor as the earlier sd 1.x cards, enabling the SDHC devices to backup both newer SDHC cards and older SD-cards.
The SDHC opts sector addressing than the byte addressing in the earlier SD standards in order to enhance addressable storage. The byte addressing backs card storing capacities up to 2 GB while sector addressing backs cards storing capacitates up to 2 TB. According to recent standard limits the largest capacity of a SDHC card is 32 GB. The SDHC card doesn’t operate in those devices which are made for previous SD 1. X specification. SDHC trademark is given license in the market to assure compatibility of the product.
The processing of SDHC was completed in 2006 but the time it was about to come in the market the non-standard high-capacity SD cards were already getting used by the users. At present the SDHC cards are highly used in electronic devices and becoming the meaner way of storing lots of gigabytes of data in smaller size. Many devices like net books, digital cameras, camcorders, PDAs, mobile phones, video game consoles and digital audio players have more usages of SDHC. The SDHC cards don’t show their prescience in mass devices where storage need is quite less and also not there where maximum saturation is required.
